Breakfast

So one of my favorite things to do with left over potatoes is to make hash browns.  Luckily for me, my Dad feels the same way.  Here is the yummy breakfast that he made today.  Cheese omlette with turkey sausage and hash browns.  He used his bacon press to get the hash brown crispy.

Breakfast for Dinner

My little friend L. loves breakfast for dinner. I'm right there with her. Many of our special nights out or at home include this treat. Here we made a breakfast pizza. First we used store bought pizza dough (I know, I know easy to make, but this is about having fun). We rolled out the dough, put some cream cheese down, then added soft cooked eggs with cooked bacon on the top. A little Parmesan cheese on top and voila. L, in true small child fashion ate the pizza part by part, but loved the bacon the best. Next time I would make two smaller pizzas. And making a special treat that your older sister doesn't get to have.....priceless.

Broiled Grapefruit

I know some of you are not fans of grapefruit, and I respect that, I might think you are wrong, but I can respect your opinion. Now that fall is creeping winter here in New England, I am in the middle of the when to turn on the heat battle. To help me hold of a little longer in this battle, I have been thinking of ways to keep my oven working. Here is something that I have wanting to try. I used a red grapefruit, cut in half, sprinkled with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg then I broiled it for a few minutes until the sugar was brown and gooey. This was yummy. It also has lead to a new search--broiler pan--as my rental apartment has long been divested of the original. Try this on a lazy morning, but try to avoid spilling on the paper.
